Stone carvings

In the centre of West Linton are carvings by James Gifford, a Scottish 17th century sculptor.
This old statue on the clock is known as the Lady Gifford statue and is reputedly of James Gifford’s wife.  It was replaced several years ago by a replica as time and weathering were beginning to have deleterious effects.
The original is now held in the local Graham Institute.
