In spring 2012 my phone rang and I was asked how much I would charge to do a series of photographs for the local amateur dramatic society Lyne Up, who were planning to perform the play Calendar Girls. They wanted to produce a charity calendar in aid of cancer research. After a brief discussion of what they were proposing, I agreed to undertake the work gratis since it was in such a great cause.
Over the next few months, these brave women contrived to help produce a lovely series of twelve shots which were published as a splendid calendar in time for 2013. The proceeds from sales was split between Borders General Hospital and MacMillan Cancer Research. The play was a resounding success with great reviews and all performances were sold out well in advance.
I’ll put the calendar images up in subsequent posts.
