Croft Roaders

Picture done in 1999 recording most of the residents of Croft Road, who gathered for a group shot for a national Millenium project.

At top left is part of a beautiful rowan tree which had stood for at least a hundred years and always produced a prolific crop of red berries in autumn. The tree was later callously felled in 2011 to make way for a new-build house. I suspect the lovely old Mrs Haldane (seated centre) in whose garden the rowan grew, might well have been turning in her grave.
