Formerly called the Gordon Arms Garage, it was renamed when the owners of the old Manor Garage in the village sold that site for housing and moved the business about 100m up here beside the A702. It was once a handy filling station until the petrol pumps at the front were removed around 1987.
Pics show the demolition of the old buildings in February 2004 and the modern replacement. In the pub opposite there were rumours circulating for a time during the construction of the new garage premises that the huge shed had possibly been supplied by Boeing 😉 due to its hangar-like size in relation to surrounding properties.
