In 2003 a concept for West Linton’s first naked calendar for charity slowly came together. Over the course of six months a series of twelve images was arranged and photographed in a variety of village locations. Again the photography was done gratis except for expenses for film and photographic paper. In addition to prints for repro, I also produced mounted 20×24 inch versions which were auctioned at the calendar launch.
Pre high quality digital, the images were done on black and white 120 rollfilm and the printed calendar which was widely promoted finally raised over £63,000 for cancer research. GMTV (now apparently known as ITV Breakfast Broadcasting Limited) came and did a live morning broadcast from the Gordon Arms Hotel, interviewing the organisers and some of the participants.
The village and calendar also featured in a TV documentary Naked Britain produced by Wellpark Productions which was aired nationally on Channel 4 on 29th December 2004.
